Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

I had my hair highlighted %26amp; cut for about $220+tax and tipped $35 (would usually tip more but I wasn't thrilled). The highlights did not turn out the way I wanted (and, while pretty, actually looked EXACTLY the way I told her I wanted to avoid) so, realizing this immediately, she offered to have me come back for a free redo to correct it and told the receptionist to schedule me "any time" I wanted but to give my hair a couple days to rest. Unfortunately, "any time" I wanted wasn't available and I've had to wait two weeks.

Should I tip her even though she's not charging me?

I've had to do the same exact thing.

My hair actually looked horrible after she was done. She was brand new, the other hairdressers in the shop were even horrified at the outcome.

I tipped her well the first time, so I didn't feel it was necessary to tip again. It was an inconvenience for me to have to go sit for another 3 hours to get it done anyway, not to mention I had to walk around with crappy-looking hair for a week before she could schedule me again.

I think it would really depend on how she messed it up the first time. If she really messed it up- and I mean it obviously looked awful- do not tip. If it looked alright but it just wasn't how you wanted it- I think I would still tip a small amount.

yes, it would be the polite and classy thing to do.

H*E*L*L NO!

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

yes!!! just not anywhere near 35 bucks....id tip far less than that(i work part time as a stylist) for at least the free fix...or send her flowers to thank her or a quick note acknowledging that you appreciate it......i think!

Hell yah!

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

GREAT question.

This happened to me and I think I gave her like 15%. But, now you've got me thinking...

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

No. You took care of her already. I don't think she would take it anyway...at least, I hope not.

If she does a really good job, tip her about $20, if she still does a crap job then no!!!

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

While you did already tip her.

I would consider the fact that she didn't have to offer to do it over. She didn't make you take her to small claims. She didn't make you have to go somewhere else to get it fixed...etc.

Fact of the matter is, if you had taken her to small claims court you would have lost. The reason being that when you tipped her the first time, that's an indication that you were well satisfied.

So I would tip her something.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

Definitely. That would be a polite thing to do. If she's offering to do your hair over for free, you have to appreciate that by giving her a tip to show her your appreciation.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

Yes, that would be the polite thing to do. You're not by any means required to tip, but it's always nice, and she'd really appreciate it. Especially if you're planning on going back to her ;)

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

I don't think you should tip her. It's an inconvenience to you, not her it's her job.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

that's you should not to pay for that.

Cos she wanted to show their service

instead of giving tip

if your going to do your hair style try to go there next time

it's enough

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

No. You shouldn't tip her. Tiping is something you do to be polite but also to show appreciation for good service. She didn't do your hair as you asked the first time %26amp; you were nice enough to tip her then. She then further inconvienced you by making you wait. You do not owe her anything else. I would suggest that if you do like the way she corrects your hair then I would simply show your appreciation by thanking her or maybe even tipping her a very small sum of money. Good luck with getting your hair fixed! =]

I work in a hair salon and do not think you need to re-tip - after all you did tip her for the original cut %26amp; hi-light. If you do want to give her a tip... Tell her to listen exactly to what the customer wants! Lol! Seriously though, it was her mistake so you shouldn't need to tip. As somebody previously said, a little card showing your appreciation would suffice :)

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

Yeah i would tip her . Only about like 20 dollars tho. ONly because she did your hair in the first place and you didnt like it and she is being nice enough to rescedule you for free. Like thats nice. SO yeah i f i was in your position i would tip her.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

If it was me I would not tip her. She messed up the first time and you tipped her. Then she makes you wait. Well this is her fault and she does not deserve a tip again. It will be a lesson learned for her. What if you tip her and she thinks its ok to not listen to a customer again? then she doesn't learn but if you dont tip her she will hopefully realize to listen to her customers.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

I wouldn't, paying 220, she's getting a cut off of that too. This is my opinion, but If I knew I messed up, doing what my customer said not to do, I would also have you come back for free %26amp; wouldn't expect an additional tip. That's me. But I would of verbaly say to her at that time I was not happy with the out come, it helps the stylist to know their customers are satisfied or not.

Should I tip a stylist who is redoing my hair for free?

No, Because she had to redo it, and you tipped her previously.
