Ask your hairdresser, as they can get a few samples to hold up against your hair and you both can decide.

However, if that's not optional, i would say stick to colors several shades different from your own if you want to stay on the safe side. Even safer, and more natural looking, go for a brown several shades lighter to make it seem like it has been naturally lightened.

you shouldn't do blonde. there would be too much off a contrast. i would do a caramel color or maybe a bronzy color. something with shimmer and something a little lighter than your color would look super nice. it'll add depth to your hair and warmth to your face and skin.

You should ask your hairdresser to do it and ask them to do your hair a colour that suits your skin tone etc. Don't be tempted to do it yourself cos I've seen so many disasters of girls with brown hair trying to highlight their hair at home. I've done it myself and it turned out copper! So definitely go to a salon to get it done the best way!

It is possible and many stylist like myself would recommend waiting 7 to 14 days before you do. Personally I have done it on my hair, never a clients, and have never had it fall out on me. If you decide to do it without the waiting period just make sure that you monitor you hair closely and keep it moisturized. Also during this time, would keep hot curlers, spritz and gel out of my hair as not to promote possible damage.

uh yea....you have to wait 2 weeks in between...you can do a semi-permanent hair color just not a permanent

hair was ash blond, with some old highlight thur it now it is white and lite gold and ash blond but too much white and gold not sure what to due. cant go back to hair dresser it a family thing. but do need to do somthing about the hair.

If you try to darken it with ash in your hair your hair may turn green. Ash is another name for the color green in the cosmetology industry. It will be very difficult to darken your hair to get it all an even tone. I would not suggest it. You may put some brown highlights in it using a highlighting cap but again stay away from any ash colors!!! I would not suggest box colors like you get at Wal-mart or drug stores but if this is your only option try a light natural brown. Again NO ASH. I am a cosmetologist. Good luck

You need some low lights. Add some dark ash blond with a "frosting cap" and that will give dimension to the color.

so when i was in the fifth grade i got my hair highlighted with red streaks. i used to go in the pool alot and that eventually faded. i highlighted it again probably like a year after but at home. about maybe 5 monthes after i dyed my hair dark brown to my natural color.

then , just 4 montes ago i wanted a change. so i highlighted my hair with blonde streaks. it looks really nice now. i got a straightener because i didnt like my wavy hair. i straightened it everyday for about 3 %26amp; a half monthes. its one of those CHI irons , so its pretty good.

lately i feel like my hair is getting all gross-looking. its kinda dry. my hair is naturally wavy , %26amp; so i discovered about a week ago that i really like my natural wavy hair. it looks hella better than my straightened hair. i let my hair air dry every night now. i dont straighten it any more , or even blow dry.

is my hair damaged after all of this?

or because i stopped straightening it , is it fine now ?

Give it time. As your hair grows, you can trim off the damaged ends as your healthy hair grows in.

Try hot oil treatments weekly to treat the dryness.

If you blow dry, dry from the roots down. The roots will always dry faster, and if you dry the roots and leave the ends slightly damp, you'll minimize the damage.

most def. heat damages hair. trust me, i am a licensed cosmetologist. u should try to only put heat to your hair once a week, twice at the most. the lightening does major damage also. ur hair is traumatized.

Do you have split ends?? I would say using a straightener on your hair every day for any amount of time will make it damaged... just be sure to get it cut every 6 weeks or so so that your split ends don't get really bad because then your hair will look really dry. Not blow drying your hair or straightening it will help tremendously, but your hair still could be damaged. If you don't need to get it cut, you might want to try a nice shampoo/conditioner for dry/damaged hair. Pantene conditioner can work wonders on dry and damaged hair.

Putting color on your hair and or heat will damage it if you don't replenish the moisture. Just like if your hands in soap %26amp; water a lot, you have to use a moisturizing lotion. Your hair is the same. You did'n say over what period of time all these chemical treatments had happened. Remember your hair grows out too. There are lots of products on the market to help lessen the damaging effects of color and straightening. Wavey or curly hair may tend to look frizzy in humid weather. Just use a shampoo and conditioner made to help tame the frizz and be sure to have the ends trimmed regularly. My daughter in law has long wavey hair and she irons it at least 4-5 days a week. When the weather is humid she braids it when it is wet before she goes to bed, and takes it down the next morning and it looks great.

yea you should get a trim to cut off all the split ends and use a hair treatment and its good that you air dry your hair now cause heat really damages your hair espeacially the sun so use sun screen spray in your hair

Whenever I get my hair dyed I get foils done (I'm assuming it's the same deal all over the world...). They just take one section of hair and dye it, and then the section next to it is left natural, then the next is dyed and so on and so forth. So you SHOULD have a nice blended style - partly natural, partly dyed.

i do hair n im not sure wat u mean by u natural highlites show thru. but if u are want jus a hint of color u can have them put in hi lites n low lites n leave some of u natural hair color. or u can have them dye u hair chocolate brown(my favortie) n put a highlight or highlite n lowlite to it....ect......

is really easy to dye u own hair from box or bottle u can buy at beauty store it is lyke 2 dolla at beauty store n u can get ANY color! u can even do u own highlites thay sell kits simple to use. i speak experience neva paid to get my hair colored n have been dye n highlight n bleach it since 6th grade.

Ask your hairdresser to put a semi-pernament colour on your hair. This will keep your hair looking shiny, and will show your natural highlights. Semi-pernament is the way to go if you don't want to have to go back to the salon every month to have your regrowth seen to, as the semi colour fades after 24 washes.
