Highlighting my hair...?

I have curly/wavy very light brown hair. I want to get highlights in a kinda punkish color.

What color do you think would look good- blue, red, something else? (just don't say green or pink)

And is it hard to highlight your own hair or to have a friend highlight it? Because I can't really afford going to a hair place right now...

I think blue would look cool. If you do it yourself, your roots might not get highlighted, I would have a friend do it for you.

red is good but u will have to bleach ur hair first where u want the highlights. i wouldnt reccommend u or a friend doing it. it may be a little expensive but would u rather pay to get it done right or have someone mess it up really bad?

I'ts easier to have a friend ,but make sure that they know what they're doing, and as for color, I think a dark blue would look pretty sweet.

i would either do chunks of red or blonde or possibly both

no colors really work with that type of hair, ive tryed.
