Hold your hair to the sunlight...what are your natural highlights? Do they have more red or blonde/brown to them? That will tell you which will look the most natural %26amp; probably the most flattering.

However, these days if you want something a bit more bold you can probably get away with brown/blonde highlights as long as their is another shade darker than that but lighter than the black to give it some dimension to it.

Im talking about the black that in ceratin lights gives of a blue hint.

Instead of highlights, you should get dark purple or some shade of blue extensions. And no not the cheap kid-ish ones, I'm talking about salon extensions. They aren't too expensive if you get two or three. Hope I helped and gave you a fabulous idea....

None. I personally hate naturally black hair with any sort of natural colored highlights in it. However, something fun and colorful would be amazing! If you don't want it to be too terribly obvious, go for a nice indigo or purple. If you want it to be like BAM!, go for a bright orange or pink!

Don't make the mistake of going too light.

Use warm tones such as Darkest burgundy, and deep violet, or warmest red,as these will flatter your skin tone and be most complimentary to the black hair.

I would suggest also that you do not do the full head of hair , just do around the face.

I have very dark hair (almost black) and this works for me. It gets me noticed, I get compliments from total strangers all the time on how lovely my hair looks.

Another tip.....nothing makes hair more thicker feeling than Henna powder, it comes in many different shades from dark reds to burgundy's (and everything in between) and your hair will shine like you wouldn't imagine.
